Matrox Radient eCL overview

The Matrox Radient eCL family consists of four types of high-performance, PCIe compliant, frame grabbers: Matrox Radient eCL-DB, Matrox Radient eCL-QB, Matrox Radient eCL-SF, and Matrox Radient eCL-DF. Each family member can acquire images from Camera Link video sources and offers FPGA-based processing off-load capabilities.

Each family member has its own type of integrated acquisition section and allows a different number of cameras to be connected and used simultaneously.

Your Matrox Radient eCL supports frame and line-scan monochrome and color video sources. The color video sources can be RGB video sources or video sources with a Bayer color filter. Besides standard Camera Link video sources, Matrox Radient eCL also supports video sources that do not follow the Camera Link standard (for example in dual-Base mode, four tap 14/16-bit with time-multiplexing), but use a Camera Link connection.

2 Some of these auxiliary signals are only available when using the optional cable adapter bracket. Also included are the standard camera control signals available on the Camera Link connector(s). For more information, refer to the the Matrox Radient eCL-DB and eCL-QB connectors and signal names section later in this chapter and the Matrox Radient eCL-SF and eCL-DF connectors and signal names section later in this chapter.

Note on nomenclature

This manual refers to all Matrox Radient eCL vision processor boards as Matrox Radient eCL. When necessary, it distinguishes between them using their full name.
