Synopsis

Allocates a 3D metrology result buffer.

Syntax

Description

This function allocates a fit 3D metrology result buffer or a statistics 3D metrology result buffer, on the specified system, to store results obtained from a M3dmetFit() or a M3dmetStat() operation, respectively. When the 3D metrology result buffer is no longer required, release its memory, using M3dmetFree().

Note that this function reference has not been updated for a MIL system added during a MIL update. Refer to the MIL system's release note to see which MIL system’s documentation you should use in its place and any possible differences.

Parameters

SysId

Specifies the identifier of the system on which to allocate the 3D metrology result buffer.

This parameter should be set to one of the following values:

For specifying the system
Value	Description
M_DEFAULT_HOST	Specifies the default Host system of the current MIL application.
MIL system identifier	Specifies a valid system identifier, previously allocated using MsysAlloc().

ResultType

Specifies the type of 3D metrology result buffer to allocate.

For specifying the type of result to allocate
Value	Description
M_FIT_RESULT	Specifies to allocate a fit 3D metrology result buffer, used for a M3dmetFit() operation.
M_STATISTICS_RESULT	Specifies to allocate a statistics 3D metrology result buffer, used for a M3dmetStat() operation.

ControlFlag

Reserved for future expansion and must be set to M_DEFAULT.

Result3dmetIdPtr

Specifies the address of the variable in which to write the 3D metrology result buffer identifier, if allocation is successful. Since M3dmetAllocResult() also returns the 3D metrology result buffer identifier, you can set this parameter to M_NULL. If allocation fails, M_NULL is written as the identifier.

Return value

The returned value is the 3D metrology result buffer's identifier if the allocation is successful. If allocation fails, M_NULL is returned.
