Printing MIL help

This section provides a series of tips to help you print MIL help.

To print the section you are currently viewing, press the Print button on the menu bar at the top, and select Print the selected topic in the Print Topics dialog. To print the entire chapter, select the chapter name in the table of contents, click on the Print button in the menu bar at the top, and select Print the selected heading and all subtopics. If you would like to print to PDF, when prompted to select a printer, use the horizontal scroll bar to scroll to an appropriate PDF generating software and print to this. There are many free PDF programs to chose from if you do not already have one on your computer.

If you have many MIL systems selected in the MIL Reference, some MIL system columns might be cropped and not printed due to the width constraint of the paper (typically letter or legal). It is recommended that you print pages from the MIL Reference using the Landscape option of your printer. You should also enable background printing.

Enable background printing

When printing, you should enable the background printing option, so that tables are more legible, particularly in the MIL Reference. Enabling this option typically depends the operating system (and browser) you are using.

Under Windows (Microsoft Internet Explorer)

When printing under the Windows operating system, perform the following to enable the background printing option of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

  1. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (or higher), use the File Page Setup menu command. The Page Setup dialog box is presented.

  2. Select the Print background colors and images option.

  3. Click on the OK button.

Note that, in older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, printing background colors and images was controlled using the Printing section on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options dialog box.

Under Linux (Mozilla Firefox)

When printing under Linux, perform the following to enable the background printing option of Mozilla Firefox:

  1. In Mozilla Firefox, use the File Page Setup menu command. The Page Setup dialog box is presented.

  2. Select the Format & Options tab.

  3. In the Options section, select Print Background (colors & images).
